over & under, and anywhere u can think of

We've been missing in action so I have to get a post in to be covered for the week. Kamanamau is very very mobile. He crawls everywhere; he pulls himself up on anything and everything! I've watched him walking while holding on the couch but he's still a bit iffy on getting down from places. I'm not too sure if he was already aware of his reflection but i recently noticed Mana slapping, smiling, and looking at himself through the oven. If you look in the picture, you'll see the jumperoo thing that he used to love being in, but now he'd rather be under it instead of in it. He tries to crawl over it and play with the toys from the outside. Mana plays with bottles and his personal keyboard :) but eventhough we gave him a keyboard, he still wants the one that daddy and mommy uses.

He is very interested in the toilet flushing noise, or probably the toilet flushing in itself. It cracks me up because when we're in the room and he hears the toilet flush, he stops what he's doing and just looks up with 'the face'. I know many babies that love to play with the toilet water and I hope Mana doesn't get that far. It's scary enough that he might drown in that water or do something dangerous in the bathroom. We've been trying to get in the routine of closing the bathroom door at all times.

Last week was Johawna's 1st birthday party! she's such a cutie! I'm not too sure why everything was planned for last saturday...do you know?? We had like five different things going on in one day. I was bummed we missed some stuff but real happy that we made it to Johawna's bday. Krissy made the bombest <--ya, that's a word ok ;) she made the bombest cake!! i forgot to take a group pic of everyone but that's ok. Yesterday we got to meet up with them again to go to PCC's haunted lagoon. It was fun!..and even more fun standing in the two hour long line..blah.

Tomorrow is halloween. Mom bought Kamanamau a pirate costume. I had a few options of his actual costume. Some ideas were an indian boy (no shirt, paw print on his chest and a skirt thing with feathers), pillsbury dough boy (?? a chefs hat, white clothes), sumo wrestler (no shirt, either buy a mawashi or have my mom make it), hercules (no idea, buy it from the store ??), and the hulk (color Mana all green, no shirt, purple pants, draw muscles on him). Well Kamanamau recently got sick so he HAS TO wear a shirt. I like the idea of not having a shirt on him because he sweats like crazy, but now he's sick so I want him to be warm. I made him try on the pirate costume and he looks oh so cute!!!! he's the cutest pirate ever. <---can you tell i'm his mother??haha

Mana's new seat

Update on Mana's seat (we actually got it a few weeks ago) : Since Mana is surprisingly large for his age we had to bump him up to a new car seat. We scored when Michele bought us a car seat/stroller combo. It was perfect. You can use it til the child is 30 lbs, but most car seats only go up to 20 something pounds unless it's a convertible car seat. Last time we weighed Kamanamau he was 25 pounds; he was seven months at that time. We haven't seen the doctor for about 2 weeks so I figured he's going to reach 30 in no time. We searched for a seat and settled with a durable yet comfortable seat for him. The winner is a front facing alpha omega seat. I wish i did more homework and research on the car seats but we needed one quick. It's a good seat but I don't like that kamanamau looks so uncomfortable in it. Well look for yourself and see if Mana is happy or not.

dolphin bird :)

I was watching family feud as i 'lulled' Mana to sleep. It was the finale part where the winning family tries to score a certain amount of points to walk away with the money. The last question was something like: Name a BIRD that some people walk like. I'm thinking sesame street's big bird. The lady answers DOLPHIN. i tried to chuckle quietly but i couldn't help myself. I blurted out a big laugh and my son just looked at me like i was crazy. haha I called Kata to tell her so she could laugh with me but she didn't answer so I left her a voicemail with me laughing more than half of the time. Not too sure what the number 1 answer was but Kata's guessing a penguin.

Well my little boy is growing so fast. He knows and understands a lot. Sometimes when we're getting ready to leave, I'll be holding Kamanamau and just when I reach for the door handle I'll remember that I don't have my house card or car key or cell...i don't know, i forget a lot of stuff... so I'll go to the room to get whatever I'm missing and when I walk away from the door Mana gets upset. I think he whines because he wants out! haha. I only recognized this because i'm always forgetting something.
Kamanamau is also answering to his name. He'll respond with a "eh", "uh", or "oa'u". It is the cutest thing. Lately he's been saying "mum" but my mom says he's trying to say his own name because he hears it so much ?? lol. This past week I gave him meat. He ate chicken for the first time. He liked it but his poop was way gross.

what is that smell ??!!?

I don't know where it's coming from but I know it's only around our building in TVA. ugh it's so gross! i really don't know what the smell is. I asked Joe and Sonya if they could smell what I was smelling and they were like "huh?!" Even when I took the trash this morning I asked one of my neighbors if it sometimes smells like this but fortunately for her she couldn't smell because her nose was stuffed. It's driving me crazy. Well it's a good thing i can vent to myself on here haha.

Game time

On Saturday we went to the UH vs. Louisiana Tech football game. I think it was their homecoming. It was pretty fun. I was just glad to be out of the house. Just as long as I'm not in the house then I'm good. I get kinda crazy and real cranky when I'm in the house for too long. Sometimes I can't help it because I'm comfortable with Mana crawling everywhere and anywhere in our home and cause of school and sleep. So back to the game ... we got to the stadium late and found out the parking lot was full. Mana was super excited. We carried him instead of taking the stroller because we weren't sure if strollers were even allowed in there. Sonya and I sat next to each other; Joe sat with his new friends. Well something strange happened with Mana. Not strange; just not like him. When UH scored I would cheer but it wasn't the all-out-scream kine. I clapped with Mana's hands and let out a litte "weeeeee" or "yaaaaay". Everytime I cheered, he made a sad face but wouldn't cry. It was so weird. Sonya couldn't stop laughing at him. I thought it was the crowd that scared him but he would only do that sad face when I cheered. So i stopped cheering and just gave Sonya high fives when UH did something 'good'. Other than that, Mana was such a good sport. UH won. Joe was happy. He was most excited to see Inoke play. We saw many familiar faces so that was nice too.

the hulk in his crib

If anyone hasn't heard my story of Mana standing up in his crib, here it goes. I was doing a little cleaning here & there so I put him in his crib for a few minutes. I'm walking around the house trying to get things done and then I hear Mana mumbling or doing his little baby talk, so I go to the room and find him standing -jumping up and down, almost half way out of the crib. I yell because it looked like he could've fallen out. At that moment I felt like my heart was going to drop; I had to act fast and I guess I thought if i yelled it would help me get to him faster ?? Anyways he's startled by my scream, but I do get to him before anything bad happens. I thought it was just a one time thing where he wouldn't remember how to pull himself up so soon but he kept doing, and he is still doing it. I took some pics of him standing in his little bed, but I had to disassemble the crib and put it lower so he wouldn't fall over. Oh and the cute hulk pj is from Aunty Theresa -thank you :) He fits perfectly in a 2T lol.

exciting 1st post

Well i've decided to create a blog....blah..we'll see how this goes. I usually can't keep up with the whole updating process because I'm too impatient with the comp so hopefully I get atleast one post per week.
Well yesterday was a pretty smooth day. I had only one class, and when I came home Joe successfully fixed our computer! yay! what a relief. Ok so the thing was earlier this week I found a computer desk at the dump and asked a friend to bring it to the house. Thanks Jess for carrying it up and thank you to who ever threw it out! it was totally functional and FREE! well I cleaned it and all, and was super excited because I wanted to replace our 'computer desk'. We were using a small portable table. It wasn't too bad, but the mister didn't like that it was wobbly..ya probably a sign to get something new. I brought the desk in the room and started rearranging everything before joe got home from work. The wires and plugs were annoying me because they were everywhere so I positioned the computer in a different way and moved around other stuff. I plug the computer back in. It turns on- i hear the fan blowing harder than usual and nothing appears on the screen/monitor. Joe eventually comes home; the computer is still not working which puts me in a bad mood cause i wanted to surprise JOe, and what's the point of a computer desk if the darn computer aint working? I mean free desk but now I have to pay to get the comp fixed. i just got too excited about the desk and then ended up being bummed out because I broke the comp. It was out for 2 days. We kept checking to see if it would work but nothing happened on its on. I looked around to see how much it would be to get it fixed and my only thought was I skrewed myself over. One company charges $59.99 to talk to you for 30 minutes..and this is only to talk, not to actually fix it. ugh what a waste. BUT! today Joe called IT services and they told him to do whatever it is they said, and tada! it worked. its fixed. Thank you byuh! life saver :) Now I'm a happy camper with a nice free desk and working computer. Other than that Mom and Tusi came over today. They played with Mana and entertained him while I stepped out to have a quick study session. Mom saw how Mana pulls himself up in his crib. I tell you he is growing super super fast. He is such a smart boy. I love watching Joe and Mana play. They crack me up. We can't wait to have more little ones in the future.
